Unboxing WoW May 2017

Hi guys hope you are doing fine, i'm back for another unboxing post this one for the May 2017 geek gear box.

For those of you who do not know this box, it is a monthly subscription one with a price of 19.99 £ (about 22.68 €) and a shipping cost outside UK of 5.99£ (about 6.69 €). It always brings a t shirt and more 5 or 6 items all related to the wizarding world of Harry Potter.  

Every month we received clues about what the box will going to contain, and the clues for May are: 

1 - Chocolate frog

2 - Dementors

3 - Hogwarts TM (exclusive item from the fisrt movie)

I have to tell you guys that the actual package has changed this month, and the box is now black with the glass and lightning bolt symbol all over it. 

When you open the box, this is what you are going to see. 

This is a Ravenclaw box (since i'm in this house) so the paper that is in the box is blue and all the items that are house related are going to be ravenclaw one's. 

This is the heaviest box that i have received from them since i subscribed and i was so curious to discover why!

So let's begin with the content of this month.... 

The first thing we have in this box is a silicone mold with the shape of frogs. 

We have here the answer to the first clue (chocolate frog) but i have to tell you that i'm using it to make ice cubes. 

I was not expecting this.... let's be honest i was expecting a chocolate frog or a pin but not this item that we received... i do not know if i like it or not, i don't think i will use it that much... But let's see!

The next item was a bracelet, in my case a blue one with some features of Ravenclaw personalities in it: Creativity, Smart, Clever, Sharp and Calm. I do not use this kind of bracelet so i will keep it in my bookshelf next to my harry potter collection. 

The second clue, was explained by this mug. It has a complex design, with harry face surrounded by dark shadows, that at closer inspection turn out to be Dementors. 

The background of the design is a vivid red that turns it a little bit dramatic or better said spooky. 

I really like Harry Potter mugs and have a great collection of them, this particular one is not  something i would pick in a store, because of the design but since it was given to me i will definitely use it. 

The explanation of why this box was so heavy is this item, a lunch box. I have to tell you guy's that i really love the design of this one, there are several drawings that are related to Harry Potter like the sorting hat, the goblet of fire or the snitch. 

I will not use it as a lunch box but i was thinking of using it to keep some of the letters i received and some bookmarks from my collection. 

Next we are given a notebook with the same features from our house that we have on the bracelet. 
I really love that this one has de original colors of ravenclaw (blue and bronze) and inside we have the ravenclaw crest in all the pages at the bottom. 
I love notebooks and stuff like that but i don't think i will use it, because i want this one in my collection and if i use it, it will end up ruined.

The print this month is one of my favorites, it is a scene from the first movie when harry and all the fisrt year students see hogwarts for the first time in the boats. I really love this scene in the movie and in the book and it makes a beautiful print, think i will frame and hang it on my hall.
I'm not sure if this is the answer to the last clue or if the next item is because both of them are exclusive from the first movie.

The shirt this month is a light blue with several flying key all over it. I have to be honest, this is the tshirt i like less from all of the boxes i have received.
I will still use it but i think it will be like a pyjama or something similar.

In general i do not love this box, i think from all the months this one is the worst and i hope the june box can compensat this.

So my favorite item from this box .... I have to choose the notebook, as for the less liked item.... Well this time is a dificult choice, but i think the chocolate frog silicone mold.

Harry Potter Platform 9 3/4 Haul

Hi everyone, welcome to another Harry Potter related post! 

In this one i will be talking about the Platform 9 & 3/4 shop, which is located at King's Cross Station in London. There is also an online shop and i will leave the link below if you want to go and take a look. 

I went to London last month and i could not resist going to king's cross and of course once there i feel in love with this shop. The entrance is magnificent and there is some amazing items in the storefront like you can see in the picture, once i was inside i have so much difficulty to choose what i want to buy (because i want everything).

Since i could not bring all the shop with me in the airplane i have to select a few things to buy, so i decided for this following items. 

I think you already know that i'm a proud Ravenclaw, so i could not exist the store without some House products.

The first thing i buy and that is related to my house is this hair tie. It is a lovely blue with some white stripes and has a hook on the back that allows you to place it in your hair.

It cost me 3.95£ (about 4.51 €) and i think it is a fair price, it is not cheap (none of the harry potter merchandise is) but it is durable and i have used it many times since i bought.

The next and last thing from Ravenclaw that i brought with me is a pen. It's a simple blue one with the Ravenclaw symbol and word in it and it cost me 5.95£ (about 6.79 €).

The ink is black which i prefer and it is a little heavy (for me there is no problem in it). 

The other pen i choose is related to Hedwig. 

For those of you that don't know i have a baby dog and i named her Hedwig, so when i see this pen i decided that i needed it so bad. 

Again it has black ink, but this one is less heavy and for me is almost too thin. It also cost me 4.95£ (about 5.65 €).

The last item i buy in this shop was a necklace. I have to tell you guys that i was so undecided about what to bring the deadly hallows symbol or the golden snitch. 

In the last moment i decided for the golden snitch just because i already have one with the deadly hallows, but now i'm sorry i did not bought the pair. 

It cost me 8.95£ (about 10.21 €) which is a good price, of course you could find cheaper necklaces of harry potter online but this one is a great quality, i have used it so many times and it is not rusty. 

I could not choose one item that i like most because i like them all, i was so sorry that i could not buy many more things but the next time i go to London this shop is a definite stop.

Book Review: Dance_ Cinderella Retold by Demelza Carlton

The better way to describe this book is, Cinderella meets Mulan.

In this retold of cinderrela, we meet Mai a dutiful daugther that lives for her father since her mother pass away, but also a very talented figther in matial arts.

When her father return to court the emperor decided that he has to marry again and Jing becames Mai stepmother. like in all cinderella's story, Mai has to make all the chores in the house and when a messager arrives to sumon her father to war, she decided that she will go in his place (here enters the Mullan part).

Desgised as a boy Mai end's up best friend to prince Yi, the heir to the throne, but her feelings for him are not friendly at all. At the same time, they both discover the better way to win the war they are at and return to court where Yi have to find a bride.

I do not have to tell you what was the end to this book, of course that they end up together!!! I like this side of cinderella, where the woman is fierce and figths for what she believes. The book is not big and the writting is easy reading so i end up reading it in a day or two.

I recomend this one was a little read to pass the time and unwind your head between complicated readings.

Book Review: Immurement by Norma Hinkens

Immurement is the first book in The Undergrounders Series, a sci-fi dystopian thriller trilogy with a gritty heroine and twists you won’t see coming!


The action takes place in 2069 and the main character is Derry a 16 year old girl that lives in a post-apocalyptic world with her brother and her dog.


There are "things" called Sweepers that extract (or better captured) people and taken them to never return, and because of that the survivors are living beneat earth, in tunnels where the flying machines from the Sweepers could not enter.


Everything changes for Derry when her brother goes missing and she takes matter in her own hands to go seek him. a search party is built that includes her, her older friend (a older man named Big Ed that everybody think is a fugitive) the guy she fancies and a friend of her brother that Derry could not tolerat nor trust named Mason.


All goes to hell when during the search her boyfriend is also captured by the sweepers and now Derry must rescued both the boys. During this book we discover so many secrets about this world, the enemy became friend and Derry learns to trust other people and herself.


The writting is easy to follow and i like the main idea behind this book, but i have to tell you guys that there are some parts that i do not like at all. In the end there is no reason for Derry to go to the Craniopolis and all the lifes that are lost there are in vain. The doubt between the two boys at the end.... oh my god really? after all she went throug to rescue her boyfriend?


I have some curiosity about the next book and have some questions without clues.... but i do not think i will be reading the next one so soon.
